This book is about a Caribbean Cinderella. While similar to the “traditional” version of the Cinderella, this version has elements of the West Indian culture. We enjoyed the story. However, I did skip over the part where Cendrillon’s godmother prayed to Bon-Die. I assumed that this was part of the West Indian religious culture. However, once I looked at the French Creole glossary at the end of the book, I saw that Bon-Die means the Good Lord. Read more >>
