According to the forward in this book, one in 110 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. This essentially means that just about everyone either knows or will know someone who is autistic. Hence, I believe it is important to know and learn helpful ways to interact with and help children who may be autistic. And, that is exactly what this book does!
