The Water Princess ~ Susan Verde

The Water Princess

Written by Susan Verde & Georgie Badiel
Illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds

A young African girl dreams of bringing cool, crystal-clear water to her village so that she and her mom, along with the other females, don’t have to walk so far and work so hard to collect the water and carry it home. The story is inspired by the life of Georgie Badiel, an African model, who longed for the water to come to her and her village. The end of the book shows photographs of people in Burkina Faso collecting water, as well as pictures of children playing in the water of the new well. Read more >>
